Aggregations
The Aggregation Function in DataChamp is a versatile feature designed to help you analyze your data effectively. It allows you to group values by rows or columns, calculate sums, minimuns, maximums and averages, and even sort the results. Here’s how to make the most of it.
In this tutorial, we'll walk you through a simple example on how to use the Aggregation Function to generate a report that calculates the Average Order Value per Country:
Select the Requiered Fields
Choose the data fields you want to include in your report. For this example, select "Shipping Address: Country" and "Total Price".
Rename the Fields
Rename the fields to make your report clearer. In this case, rename them to "Country" and "Average Order Value".
Open Aggregation overview
Click the "Aggregate" button on the left side of the interface to access the aggregation tools.
Group Data
Drag and drop the fields into the relevant sections. We have to drop the "Country" field into the "Group by Rows" section to group the data by country.
Add the Metrics
Drag the field you want to calculate into the Metrics section. In our example we are using "Average Order Value".
Select the mathematical operation
Choose how you want the data calculated: Sum, Max, Min or Average. In this case we use "Average".
Sort the Values
Click "Sort by" to organize your results. In this example, sort by "Average Order Value" to display the data in order.
Preview the Result
Click on the "Preview Button" to check to result of the report.
Adjust the Report
Make any necessary changes until the report matches your needs.
Save and Run the Report
Save your report and run it to generate the final results.
