Exporting product data from Shopify is crucial for inventory management, analysis, and backup purposes. DataChamp offers a efficient way to export detailed product information directly from the Shopify database. This guide will walk you through the steps to export products and highlight what sets DataChamp apart.

  1. Create a new Report

Click on the "New Report Button" and choose "Products".

  2. Select your data

After creating a new report, click on "Browse" to view and select the product data you wish to export. DataChamp allows you to pick precisely the data fields that are relevant to your needs.

  3. Applying filters

Exporting your entire product database might not always be necessary. Use DataChamp’s filtering options to narrow down the data to specific products based on various criteria like inventory levels, vendor names, or product types. To apply filters, click on the "Filter" button, set your criteria, conditions, and values. You can layer multiple filters to refine your data further.

  4. Choose the File Type & Name

Choose between CSV, Excel, or TXT file formats according to what suits your analysis tools or preferences best. For more information, take a look at our article that covers all the different file type options. With Datachamp you also have the option to create user-defined file names.

  5. Enable Email Notifications

Stay updated on the status of your exports by enabling email notifications. This feature, found under "Settings", allows you to add an email address (or multiple) where you want the export notifications sent, complete with custom subjects and messages.

  6. Save Your Report

Once you're satisfied with your report settings, click "Save" located in the upper right corner of the interface. This action stores your report template for future use.

  7. Run Your Report

To execute your report and generate the data, go back to the dashboard and press the "Run now" icon associated with your report.

  8. Automate with a Scheduler

For regular exports, DataChamp’s scheduler feature is invaluable. From the dashboard, click on the "scheduler" icon to set up automation for your report. You can configure the scheduler to run your report hourly, daily, monthly or just at specific weekdays, ensuring you always have up-to-date product data.
