Incremental exports
Incremental export in DataChamp refers to the process of adding new data to an existing Google Sheets file without overwriting the existing information. This allows for ongoing updates to your data without losing previously exported information.
Finding the Next Free Row:
DataChamp searches for the next available row in the existing Google Sheets file.
New data is appended starting from this row, ensuring that existing data remains intact.
Checking the Tab Name:
DataChamp checks the name of the sheet tab (worksheet) where the data is to be exported.
If the tab name matches with the one in the App, DataChamp will use that sheet for the export.
If the tab name does not match, DataChamp will create a new tab to hold the newly exported data.
How can I ensure that my data is exported to the correct sheet in Google Sheets?
Verify Tab Names: Ensure that the tab name in your Google Sheets matches the name expected by DataChamp. For example, if DataChamp is set to look for a tab named “DC,” make sure this tab exists in your Google Sheet.
Review Export Settings: Check your DataChamp settings to confirm that the correct sheet name is specified for your exports.
What happens if the tab name doesn’t match?
If DataChamp does not find a tab with the expected name, it will automatically create a new tab in the Google Sheets file to accommodate the exported data. This ensures that your data export process continues smoothly without any data being lost.
Can I customize the tab name used for incremental export?
Customization Options: Yes, DataChamp allows for customization of the tab name used for exports. You can configure the desired tab name in the DataChamp settings according to your needs.
